When you circulate documents among colleagues for review and comment, there's nothing more practical and useful than the ability to track changes. Microsoft Word includes powerful tools for recording, accepting and rejecting changes, appending comments, comparing documents, and merging documents. Microsoft, i4i square off in appeals hearing over Word

A federal appeals court today heard arguments in a patent infringement case involving Word that required Microsoft to pay nearly $300 million in damages and barred the company from selling the software starting Oct. 10.

Microsoft: Word legal foe paints cockeyed tale

Microsoft Corp. called the claim by Canadian developer i4i Inc. that it plotted to drive the company out of business "distorted," and "a breathless tale" that was not supported by the evidence, according to a court documents.

Sidekick: The Good News & the Bad News
Either way you look at it Microsoft Data Center management did not follow standards or best practices in this failure. In which case it makes me wonder more about the outsourcing of corporate data much less personal data.
