Declare your independence! Jailbreak your iPhone!

July 03, 2009, 2:12 PM — Just a quick post to lead into the U.S.'s Independence Day weekend holiday. If you'd like to pledge your life, your fortune, and your sacred honor -- or at least, risk munging up your pricey phone -- to independence from Apple's restrictions on the iPhone OS, then you'll be pleased to know that a jailbreaking tool for iPhone OS 3.0 is now available. Go forth and install whatever crazy code and apps you can lay your hands on!

As for me, I admit that the notion has no appeal to me. There's nothing available via Cydia that would make me risk my phone becoming unusable. Presumably many will call me faint of heart; just call me the Canada in this scenario, I guess.
