January 28, 2011, 2:21 PM — AT&T iPhone users have a lot to complain about. Dropped calls, antennas than hang up on you, diatribes from Jon Stewart about bad AT&T service that take up half the show (only half?).
Worst is the end of the $30 all-you-can eat data plan that ended for new customers in June. The pain is especially bad when listening to Verizon promise an unlimited plan for its iPhone (though Verizon doesn't like "unlimited" any more than AT&T does, so neither the lack of limits nor the plan will be available forever.)
The Associated Press has discovered a bit of positive customer service, though: if you ask right, AT&T will restore the unlimited plan for $30 per month.
The catch, at least for a couple of people AP interviewed: to get the offer they have to both ask for it and, if necessary, threaten to move to Verizon.
