June 03, 2011, 5:31 PM — There finally was good for shareholders of Nokia (NYSE: NOK) on Friday: The embattled cell phone maker's stock gained for the first time this week.
Nokia shares ended regular trading up 9 cents, or 1.4 percent, from Thursday's closing price of 6.57.
Still, the Finnish company's stock lost nearly 19 percent in the holiday-shortened four days of trading that, to Nokia shareholders, must have seemed like a week in hell.
Which, unfortunately, leads to the bad news: Friday's closing price for Nokia was 6.66.
Some companies just can't catch a break.
