How to use nicknames instead of real names on your iPhone

February 08, 2012, 5:10 PM — Sometimes it's easier to use a nickname for a contact instead of dealing with a real name. Here's how to set it up in your iPhone contacts.

1. Tap the Contacts icon on your iPhone

2. Go to the contact you want to set up with a nickname.

3. Tap Edit Contact then Add Field then Nickname.

4. Add the nickname you want to use then tap Done.
