April 17, 2013, 10:47 AM — The folks over at Aatma Studio, an animation firm that specializes in iPhone concept videos, has posted a new video showing 10,000 iPhone 5 models in a domino-toppling setup.
The company says the computer-generated phones (the screens on them, at least) "feature NFC (Near Field Communications) concept that enable content to be passed on from one iPhone screen to another." While there's no word yet on whether the new iPhone model will include NFC, the studio making this video said that "this could be a pretty neat iPhone commercial."
Personally, I'm impressed with their ability to run the "dominoes" into a freight elevator, go up a floor and then come out the other end to continue the demo. But since this is all CGI anyway, I'd imagine that some of that was faked/staged as well. Also, I'm pretty sure 10,000 actual iPhones would cost way more than the budget for this video. Still, it's a fun video to watch.
