May 30, 2014, 2:18 PM — Want to get more out of work and life with your iPhone or iPad? Then check out these great five productivity apps -- every one of them free. They're in addition to the five I clued you into a little while ago.
Having a hard time keeping track of your work receipts? Who doesn't? Some are sent electronically via email; others you get on paper. That's where this great app comes in. You can keep track of them both, because you use your iPhone's camera to scan the paper ones in. Email receipts can be automatically logged if you've got a Gmail or Yahoo Mail account. There are also ways to track your receipts using categories. This one's a winner.
Remember the days when we were promised paper-free offices? What happened? Despite our reliance on electronics, we're snowed under a blizzard of paper. Genius Scan helps solve the problem. It scans in paper documents and creates PDFs out of them. It's easy to use, and has a lot of extras, such as using keywords to tag documents to make them easy to find. You can also easily share scanned files via Wi-Fi. If you want even more extras, such as no ads, and wireless printing using AirPrint, you'll have to fork over $3 for the Plus edition. As for me, free is fine.
Why pay for an Office app, when you can get this for free? It's a straightforward, simple-to-use app for editing documents and spreadsheets. It'll handle Microsoft Office formats as well as others. And it works with many of the major cloud-based storage services, including Google Drive, Dropbox, Box and OneDrive, so you can sync with them all.
This service, lets you manage files from multiple cloud providers, including Google Docs, Dropbox, Box.Net, Evernote, and SugarSync. But it does more as well, and works with social media and content storage services including Picasa, Instagram, Flickr, Twitter and Facebook. It gives you 50GB of free storage as well. You'll be able to view and manage files from all the services with a single interface.
