    Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and Koninklijke Philips Electronics NV are teaming up to incorporate Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology in future cell-phone models from Samsung, giving users the ability to use their phones to make payments, the companies said Tuesday.

    As expected, Intel Corp. introduced its tri-mode wireless chip Thursday with several software enhancements to the product to help improve security and reliability. The first notebooks with the chip will be introduced in September, Intel said.
