Micron boosts NAND flash endurance six-fold

Flash memory maker Micron today said that it has been able to boost the write endurance of its multi-level cell and single-level cell NAND flash chips by as much as six times.

Flash memory vendors slashing production, raising prices

NAND flash memory vendors responded to the slowing economy and weak consumer confidence by phasing out production of 200mm wafer manufacturing and cutting overall flash memory production to an industry-wide average of 70% in the first quarter of this year.

Either way you look at it Microsoft Data Center management did not follow standards or best practices in this failure. In which case it makes me wonder more about the outsourcing of corporate data much less personal data.
