Cisco's new routers with cloud capability join at least one other vendor in the home networking space with cloud-based features. Last week, D-Link announced that two of its Cloud Routers - the Cloud Router 1200 (model DIR-636L, $59.99) and Cloud Router 2000 (DIR-826L, $99.99) were shipping.

These routers feature the mydlink Cloud Services platform, for management and configuration of the routers over the cloud via smart phone app. In addition, the routers include a USB port for adding an external hard drive, and support for D-Link's SharePort Mobile app (for iPhone, iPad or Android), which lets users access personal files and multimedia content from the drive attached to the router.
