Get Certified as a Web Professional

By Dan Blacharski, ITworld |  News

The world is full of people who think they know how to be Webmasters
and Web designers, and some of them really know their stuff.
Unfortunately for employers, very few ways actually separate the wheat
from the chaff. The Association of Web Professionals (AWP) offers three
certifications designed to prove that you really are a Web professional
to potential employers.

A not-for-profit organization based in Mississauga, AWP offers the only
vendor-neutral certification program for Web professionals endorsed by
several major Internet players, including Microsoft Canada, IBM,
Netscape, Hewlett-Packard, Novell and others. Although vendor-specific
certification programs are available addressing specific software
packages, a vendor-neutral program can be a big plus. It can be put to
use at any company, regardless of the type of software being used.
