Free Interoperability Tools

By Robert Williams, ITworld |  How-to

Next week will be the last newsletter in this UNIX/Windows
interoperability series. In the past several months I have endorsed
Microsoft's Services for UNIX 3.0 (SFU3) and the MKS Suite. These two
products are exceptional commercial additions for anyone involved in
cross UNIX and Windows integration and migration. As one my last bits of
advice I want to give you a heads-up on free interoperability tools.

A reader named Rodney called my attention to the /tool UNIX Tools
Community. They have a large variety of freely distributed UNIX tools
for the Windows environment. Many of these tools are tuned specifically
for the Interix kernel that is the base technology for SFU3. The
community is run by Interop Systems ...check out their website at
http://www.interopsystems.com/tools. You want be disappointed.
