Bionic Penguins: Our future robot overlords?

By Peter Smith  Add a new comment

We live in a world where technology is hurtling forward at a breakneck pace, but since we do live in that world, it's hard to not become somewhat jaded about all that progress. Then along comes something like this Festo Bionic Learning Network 2009 video and the reality of how far we've come kind of slaps you in the face (sorry for the link; embedding of the video is disabled by request). If possible, please watch the HD version.

Head over to Festo's Bionic Learning Network page to learn more about the program.

If you stop to break down what is being done here, it all seems less magical, but if you just watch the video it really feels like part of a science fiction movie. Anyway, I don't have a lot to add but the video was so cool I wanted to share it with TechnoFile readers.

Thanks to Engadget for bringing this video to our attention!
