Record texters get $26,000 phone bill waived

April 25, 2009, 12:30 PM — Two central Pennsylvania men with more time than sense decided to set a text-messaging record in March, exchanging over 217,000 messages in 30 days. Although they had an unlimited texting plan, they still got a $26,000 phone bill, which came in a box that cost $27.55 to send. Fortunately, T-Mobile agreed to waive the fees.
