GPS leads wrecking crew to wrong house

By Amy Bennett  Add a new comment

GPS is great for helping drivers find where they're going -- but it isn't so accurate that it can replace common sense. (ITwhirled readers will remember the story of the GPS device that lured a hapless driver onto the railroad tracks, causing a collison with a commuter train.) Yet a contractor paid to demolish a house was given only GPS coordinates, not a street address, leading them to tear down a family home full of heirlooms.
