Seven cringe-worthy tech movie moments

It's a Unix system!

Earlier this year, as I watched Julie and Julia, and squirmed whenever the interesting bits about Julia Child in postwar France gave way to the Amy Adams staring intently at her laptop, I realized that the only thing less cinematic than writing was blogging. But, to give the filmmakers credit, the blogging was portrayed with scrupulous technical accuracy, even if that meant sacrificing any degree of narrative interest.

Other films took a different route: mucking about with How The Tech Works in order to make stories more gripping. Unfortunately, those of us vaguely familiar with tech stuff often find these moments painfully jarring.
