Phil Johnson used to write jokes for late night television and his jokes have been told by David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon and Jay Leno (read his TV material here). In addition to his cartoons and television writing, he spent many years working as a web developer and currently works in public broadcasting. When he's not drawing, working or farting around with his wife and two daughters, he loves Tweeting!

It would be a better analogy (but worse humor) to say "You mean I can't buy the $19.95 extended service plan for my laptop since it's already broken?"Nobody is going to refuse to fix something, it's just a matter of who pays and how much.

"Johnny, your computer is just getting too old...we're just not able to replace the RAM. Sally's computer is newer and yours will probably have a hard drive failure in the next year anyways. Sorry."
