    Posted November 21, 2011 - 6:28 pm

As we approach the Black Friday "holiday", where retailers hope we turn into blathering idiots who are willing to trample over our fellow human beings just to get a $20 TV, we're now seeing more hype in terms of Internet videos (as well as TV commercials) that are aiming to go viral.

    More proof they're building Terminators

    Posted November 7, 2011 - 12:21 pm

Sometimes I feel like Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2 (no, get your mind out of the gutter). I mean, she keeps warning people about the Terminators that are coming from the future, yet most of humanity just looks at her like she's weird, or they lock her up in an asylum.

The Internet weighs about as much as a strawberry

    Posted November 1, 2011 - 3:50 pm

A viral video making the rounds is "How Much Does The Internet Weigh?" from the folks at Vsauce. It's an entertaining look at the concept of data actually possessing some weight, although we can't really measure the weight of an individual data point, when taken altogether we get something to the effect of something that does weigh something. Got that?

Watch the Fastest Rubik's Cube Solvers on the Planet

    Posted October 18, 2011 - 5:06 pm

When the Rubik's Cube was unleashed on the world in the late '70s and early '80s, I caught onto the craze like everyone else, trying to solve the puzzle cube as quickly as possible. I eventually bought a cheat book and figured out how to solve it, but my best times were in the under 5 minute mark, not seconds like the speed solvers seen here, at the recent Rubik Championships, held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Video Game Characters Come to Life in Sony Ad

    Posted October 5, 2011 - 4:30 pm

I normally don't talk about commercials in this space, but I'll make an exception for this Sony PlayStation ad, which is brilliant. In the ad, a bunch of video game characters are in a bar, just hanging out talking about their experiences, and then honoring "Michael", the person who controls them all.

Robot Arm Brings us One Step Closer to Terminators

    Posted October 4, 2011 - 10:34 am

At the CEATEC show in Japan, Cyberdyne Inc. showed off its prototype robotic arm, which it says will help the weak, disabled and elderly. But as any science-fiction fan knows, this is the first step towards building the Terminator robots that will destroy us all.
