    While Firefox is probably the most common I see out there in the wild, I'm surprised that PuTTY and WinSCP didn't make this list, considering the amount of crossover between the Windows and *nix world that is going on today. WinSCP is a bit simpler and easier to use than FileZilla at the expense of some functionality that isn't used as often these days. FTP is so last century...

    Did it not occur to anyone at ITWorld writing this to add the URLs so we can get these programs. Most are obvious, but some are not; paint.net you get from getpaint.net. Fortunately the people that own paint.net don't have compromised servers feeding malware.
