How to force close apps in iOS 7?

    Posted January 24, 2014 - 5:21 pm

On all the other versions of iOS I’ve used before, you could just double click the home button, hold down the app’s icon in the app switcher tray and kill it from there. That doesn’t work for me in iOS 7. Anyone know what the new process to force close an app is, assuming you can still do it?

Why does it take so long for Android phones to get software updates?

    Posted December 27, 2013 - 6:16 pm

It seems as if any update to Android takes forever to reach customers. Google can release an OS update, and it be months before it is pushed out to owners of existing hardware (or it is NEVER updated). This is one of my only real complaints about Android, but why does it take so long?

How to get Android 4.4 update for Nexus 7?

    Posted November 18, 2013 - 3:49 pm

Android 4.4 KitKat is supposedly released now, and news reports last week said that it was available for Nexus 7. I’ve gone into my settings and checked for updates, but it just says everything is up to date even though it is still on Android 4.3 and doesn’t give me any options to install anything. What do I need to do to get the 4.4 update?

Hi.. I'm new here and just stumbled in here looking for advice for the question at hand. I'm looking to study for the RHCSA and I own a Macbook Air 2013. It's a great laptop for the most part and I'd rather not get rid of it but I know some of the test objectives concern themselves with KVM.

Tiles in Windows 8 do not work

    Posted November 5, 2013 - 5:00 pm

Hi, about two weeks ago we discovered that the live tiles on our HP Envy tablet are no longer working. This was found when we tried to update to Win 8.1 and the Store App would not open at all. I have been on numerous forums trying to find a solution to this problem and after trying almost everything, the problem is still there.

    What’s the purpose of SteamOS?

    Posted September 23, 2013 - 8:55 pm

Steam is great, but I can’t quite figure out the purpose of the just announced SteamOS. Steam described it as a “free stand-alone operating system for living room machines.” What does that mean, that it’s for something like Ouya or Roku, or that it is a gaming oriented OS for the PC that you hook up to your nice big flat screen TV?

  • Question

Does the Microsoft Surface RT’s price cut make it a good purchase?

    Posted July 16, 2013 - 3:23 pm

Microsoft just announced a $150 cut for the Surface RT, but it runs RT instead of Windows 8. The new price point puts it in the realm of something I will actually consider, although I have been waiting for the next generation Nexus 7. If it ran Windows 8, I think I would go ahead and purchase it, but I’m not so sure about RT.
