Palin piques the blogosphere

In a striking example of this news-driven nature of blog postings, both presidential candidates were completely eclipsed, beginning in late August, by blog mentions of the their respective running mates -- with relative-newcomer Palin, in an echo of the spike in popularity of her name as a Google search term, being far more widely mentioned than Biden during this phase.

Grand Jury Hands Down Indictment in Palin Hacking

Ryan over at ZDNet’s Zero Day blog is reporting that the man behind last month’s hack of Republican vice presidental candidate has been indicted by a federal Grand Jury. Here’s an excerpt:

David Kernell is facing five years in prison for allegedly hacking into Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's Yahoo e-mail account, but lawyers watching the case say that the felony charge against him is a bit of a stretch.
