MIT and Audi team up on advanced auto navigation

AIDA 2.0 merges GPS data with driver behavior

By

The folks at MIT's SENSEable City Lab and Audi have posted a video on its AIDA (Affective, Intelligent Driving Agent) program, a platform that includes an intelligent navigation system aimed at improving the driving experience.

The project helps "envision a navigation system that becomes familiar with both the driver and the city" by not just focusing on determining the route to a specified destination, but rather "utilizes analysis of driver behavior in order to identify the set of goals the driver would like to achieve."

Somewhere, a voice is ringing in my head saying "It's the journey, not the destination", and also I keep thinking that if these maps are popping up on my dashboard during my trips, there's gonna be a lot more accidents.
