Geekend: Fun weekend ideas for your inner geek

Welcome to our new weekly video series, highlighting ideas for geeky weekend activities. It's fun, we promise.

We've been pretty busy here at the ITworld Creative Content Factory this week - not only did we debut our new mystery sound series, "Name That Noise", but we are also proud to announce our new series, "Geekend", a weekly roundup of geek-related ideas for weekend activities.

Each week (we'll post on Thursday or Friday), Phil Johnson (Associate Online Editor for ITworld.com) and I will chat about some geeky obsession that we have, or upcoming movies, TV shows, games, books (or comics!) that have a techie or geeky angle to it. Here's our first episode, in which we discuss the 30th anniversary of WarGames, whether Superman can be as cool as Batman, and our vision for the perfect geeky Father's Day.

Got a geeky obsession that you usually enjoy on the weekend? What are your plans for the weekend? Let us know in the comments!
