The Palm Pre, announced in January by Palm Inc. and to be distributed by Sprint Nextel Inc., is targeted to be in-stock in warehouses on March 15, presumably for sale soon thereafter, according to a blogger.

The BoyGeniusReport.com reported Wednesday that it found the information for the target in-stock date in an internal Sprint document that included end-of-life dates for various phones that Sprint sells. The Pre would replace the Palm 755p, which would reach end of life in May, according to the document.

Sprint officials could not be reached for comment Thursday on the shipment date, but said at the International CES show in January that it would be mid-year. Even BoyGenius concludes that the Pre release date might be closer to May or early June, nearly mid-year, given that Sprint would want to sell out the stock of Treo 755p 's before selling the Pre.

Other bloggers have said they are awaiting shipments of test devices of the Pre, which are expected in late February.
