Could there be anything more embarassing on your shelf than Farmville for Dummies?
How about Zombie Raccoons or DIY Backyard Cremation?
You're going to say you've heard this one already, but Farmville for Dummies has just been published.
It's available on Amazon.
It takes the environment and its players seriously, but completely ignores the incredibly obvious Dummies angle by pointing out Farmville is for people without the attention span for Sims, intelligence for Second Life, or a good enough memory to remember the password World of Warcraft.
Mashable nominates it for the Most Redundant Book Title of 2010, but doesn't mention the award ceremony will be in New York March 2, 3 and 4.
Amazon's description said the book gets novices up to speed "while more savvy players can sharpen their skills..." without noting the irony of the use of the word "savvy."
It comes out Feb. 15, and is available for $13.14 -- probably because it's the easiest price for the likely audience to remember that's larger than $12.34.
If you order it for yourself, wrap it in the cover of a less embarrassing book, like How to Appear Sympathetic, or The DIY Guide to Backyard Cremation. Don't use any of these; someone might discover your secret in a quest to read Zombie Raccoons & Killer Bunnies.
