Other Steve Jobs quotes Virgin America could have used on its planes
Airline pays tribute to late Apple co-founder with quote on plane; why not more?
Having exhausted all forms of tribute to Steve Jobs on land, the ongoing celebration of the late Apple co-founder has now taken to the air.
The airline Virgin America has stamped one of its Airbus A320 passenger jets with a quote attributed to Jobs: "Stay hungry, stay foolish."
(Note: That quote actually isn't a Jobs original. He read it on the back cover of The Whole Earth Catalog in the 1970s, as he explained during his well-known 2005 commencement address at Stanford University. But it's now associated with him.)
A Virgin America spokesperson told MacRumors that the phrase was submitted by an employee last fall as part of an internal plane-naming competition.
Having died in early October following a long struggle with cancer, Jobs clearly was on the minds of employees at Virgin America, the only airline based in Silicon Valley. ITworld has obtained several other Jobs-related quotes submitted by workers of the airline as a tribute to the tech legend's passion and perpetual drive for excellence. Here are some of them:
"You guys don't know what you're doing!"
"Everything you've ever done in your life is sh*t."
"How many times have you taken LSD?"
"By the way, what have you done that’s so great?"
"F*ck Michael Dell."
"You should hate each other for having let each other down."
"Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble."
"Beware the bozo explosion."
"Google you f***ing ripped off the iPhone, wholesale ripped us off."
