Fake iPad 3 video likely more exciting than next week's real one
Oh, if they could only make what we imagine
A video getting a lot of buzz on the InterWebs is this one from Aatma Studio, which provides viewers with an "iPad 3 concept video" of possible features that Apple could be releasing next week when the expected iPad 3 is announced for real. The video, which Aatma says is clearly a concept, shows off an "edge-to-edge" screen, magnets that let you connect multiple iPads together, near field communications (NFC) and a 3D holographic display for multiplayer games.
According Aatma, "this computer-generated iPad 3 concept video pushes the envelope in iPad design and iPad features," and that "we hope this Concept iPad 3 preview provides you as much entertainment as an iPad 3 commercial or iPad 3 official video or an iPad 3 review, before the actual iPad 3 unboxing."
Well, no, there's the rub. Anything that Apple does next week (the event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 7) will likely be a letdown from something like is shown here, especially the 3D holographic imaging. Can you imagine the "SQUEEEEE!" from Apple fans if that were real? Holy crap, there'd be lines around the block starting now.
Sadly, after the announcement, in which several improvements are likely to happen, everyone will say, "But yeah, but it doesn't have X, Y, or Z, based on unrealistic expectations about what the iPad 3 could have, or should have had due to some of these videos.
