Rise of the Guardians: It's like the Avengers, but with Santa Claus
Dreamworks releases second trailer for big holiday animated film
Dreamworks Animation today released the second trailer for its "Rise of the Guardians" animated film, in which The Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Sandman (no, not the comics version) and Tooth Fairy all team up to fight off against "Fear", some sort of nightmare-inducing being. In this new trailer, we get to meet Jack Frost, a ne'er-do-well who has been recruited by the good guys to join the team.
Watching this trailer, it reminded me of The Avengers - replace Jack Frost with Iron Man, Santa with Captain America, Tooth Fairy with Black Widow, and voila! Even the bad guy is a bit Loki-ish.
This one has mega-movie written all over it at the moment. When I was in the theater watching the other Dreamworks Animation movie (Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted), they showed the earlier trailer and I turned to my 6-year-old daughter and asked her if she wanted to see it, and she nodded her head quite enthusiastically. Just take my money now, Dreamworks.
