What happens AFTER the Mars Curiosity lands?
NASA video gives closeup look at SAM, the Mars sample lab
A lot of attention is being paid to the NASA Curiosity rover's landing on the early morning of Sunday, Aug. 6 (at about 1:30 a.m. Eastern), especially with the "7 Minutes of Terror" landing cycle.
But should the landing be successful, then what? What is Curiosity going to be doing then? To help out, NASA has posted this video, introducing us to SAM, the Sample Analysis at Mars lab, and what it plans to do once it's on the surface of the Red Planet.
Bonus video: NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory also posted this video on "What's up for August" if you're looking for some other space-related activities for the month.
