Willy Wonka as a horror movie
Re-edited trailer shows the true nature of kids' film
The original 1973 film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" was one of my favorites growing up - I'm pretty sure it was because of that room where everything was edible, and not because of the creepy Oompa-Loompas.
My wife, on the other hand, really despises the movie, for several of its scary scenes (or seemingly scary, especially to a kid). For the most part the movie is whimsical, but if you take the scary or menacing parts and put them all together, you could create a movie trailer to make it seem like this kids' movie is a horror classic. That's what this guy did - the video was posted in 2009 but it recently showed up on my Tumblr feed, so I figured I'd share this. What side are you on in terms of the Willy Wonka movie? Creepy? Scary? Whimsical?
Interestingly, I think the movie becomes a lot funnier when you watch it as an adult, and you can really appreciate Gene Wilder's performance here.
