Use TMPFS to make Ubuntu 12.10 faster

Here's how you can use TMPFS to lessen disk writing and reading. This will help speed up Ubuntu 12.10 since it will use RAM instead of the hard disk.

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Type in the following command to edit the /etc/fstab file, then hit Enter.

sudo gedit /etc/fstab

3. Place these two lines at the end of the file:

# Move /tmp to RAM
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults,noexec,nosuid 0 0
