Cisco Systems Inc. is set to announce new Gigabit Ethernet products for medium-sized and large corporate customers, along with a marketing effort with Intel Corp. to promote the transmission technology often used in corporate networks, the companies said in a statement.
Cisco and Intel will hold a Webcast to discuss the new products and marketing agreement at 11 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, the companies said.
Cisco's existing gigabit products span several product families. The products hit on such areas as WAN (Wide Area network), LAN (Local Area Network) and server switching. In addition, Cisco offers a family of gigabit products for copper cabling.
Participants on the Webcast will be Larry Birenbaum, Cisco's vice president and general manager of the Ethernet Access Group; Greg Lang, Intel's vice president and general manager of the Platform Networking Group; and Mike Wolf, Cahners In-Stat Group director of the Enterprise and Residential Group.
