Here's how you can use bold fonts, ANSI colors and bright colors in the terminal application in OS X.
1. Open the terminal app.
2. Go to Preferences.
3. Go to Settings.
4. Double click your preferred profile in the left side menu.
5. A new terminal window will open with your changes.
