April 6, 2001 —

PARTNER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (PRM) vendor ChannelWave on Tuesday announced that it has acquired competitor ChanneLogic Data, and will add that company's contract reporting and management technology to its Partner Loyalty System.

ChanneLogic's applications automate and manage business partnership lifecycles with automatic review, approval, and distribution of contracts, marketing and sales programs, product release schedules, and other information, according to officials.

The Walnut Creek, Calif. company's technology will round out ChannelWave's Web-based PRM solution, according to company officials.

"This is about integration with back-end ERP [enterprise resource planning] systems and front-end PRM systems, for better visibility for inventory management and other internal factors which give companies better insight into how to run the channel," said Jack Connors, vice president of business development at Cambridge, Mass.-based ChannelWave. "Where ERP meets PRM is where ChanneLogic sat."

Details on the acquisition, a stock deal, were not released. ChanneLogic CEO Robert Marenich and COO Kris Peterson will remain with the company, as ChannelWave builds up its West Coast operations.
