SYNCRA SYSTEMS IS reaching deeper into the supply chain with the announcement today of its new supplier-to-manufacturer collaborative replenishment and inventory management solution.
The new Syncra Supply solution will operate on top of Syncra's platforms for public exchanges and private marketplaces, allowing manufacturers to work more efficiently with their suppliers, giving them greater visibility into business processes that affect them directly, said Matt Johnson, CTO at Waltham, Mass.-based Syncra.
"Today, the buyer sends their inventory position ... it's up to the supplier to figure out what to do," he said. "It tends to be a black box. It delegates responsibility too much to the supplier."
Syncra Supply is designed to allow buyers and suppliers to collaborate on replenishment to reduce inventory costs, improve service levels, and boost sales, Johnson added.
Syncra's supply-chain collaboration solutions are open and vendor neutral, designed to interoperate with any existing enterprise supply-chain management and planning tools from vendors such as E3 Corporation, i2 Technologies, Logility, Manugistics, Oracle, and SAP.
Momentx, an e-market solutions provider for the dairy, food, and beverage industries, has deployed Syncra Supply in its Dairy.com and INC2inc exchanges.
Syncra Supply will allow Momentx customers to overcome the traditional isolation between manufacturers and their suppliers and allow them to collaboratively drive excess costs from the supply chain, said Suresh Kumar, Momentx director of supply-chain solutions.
