Science Class: What's a Harvest Moon?

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, we'll get a full moon, and the one that happens in September is called the Harvest Moon (it's the full moon closest to the end of summer/beginning of autumn).

In this very handy video courtesy of NASA's "VideoFromSpace" channel, we get a great explanation of how the term "harvest moon" came to be, where to look to see a bright orange, pumpkin-like moon, and more.

I'd love for NASA to produce a video that explains all of the other moon names, especially the "Beaver Moon" and "Sturgeon Moon."
