Report: Many products not Y2K-ready

Close to 2,000 hardware and software products have yet to be tested for year
2000, according to Infoliant Corp., a Pittsburgh software vendor that also tracks
statistics regarding Y2K compliance.

Another notable detail in the company's May report is an increase from 8% to 15% in
those products that vendors have decided not to test.

Infoliant has been tracking the Y2K compliance of more than 36,000 products since
1997. Since then, it has recorded nearly 3,000 changes in Y2K status, with a full
two-thirds of the changes recorded in the past five months.
