The data-crunching demands of business intelligence (BI) may be speeding up the adoption of grid computing as IT managers seek ways to sort through copious amounts of rich BI data. This article points to the Evans Data Corp. semiannual study of development managers and application programmers in database environments that found a correlation between the rapid growth of grid computing and an increase in spending on BI and analytic activities.
