FreeBSD to interoperate with Unix platfoms

Most people think of FreeBSD as "the other free Unix," but in fact the project hasn't had access to the POSIX Unix interoperability standard - until now. The IEEE and the Open Group have now given their permission for that access, which will open up a world of interoperability for BSD users.
