Ragesh (Raj) Datt is the Senior Vice President Global Operations and CIO. In this role, Raj is responsible for all aspects of Administration, Procurement and Information Technology for Aricent.

Raj brings with him an exceptionally rich global experience of over twenty years and impressive industry recognition for his thought and transformational leadership. He has won various accolades over the course of his career including being recognized as the Global CIO of the year for 2008 by the greater Pittsburgh Technology Council and his Peers, being selected in Computer World’s 100 “IT Premier Leaders” in 2007 and winning the CIO 100 award for “IT Innovation and Business Transformation” in 2006. Over the course of his career Raj has played a wide spectrum of global roles across multiple domains including management consulting & strategy, delivery & engagement, process improvement, financial management, supply chain management, CRM and ERP systems and technology visioning.

He joins us from UMUC, University of Maryland which is the largest degree granting University in the USA and one of the largest public providers of online higher education in the USA as their Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology. Prior to that Raj worked with Samoa technologies as the VP-General Manager and Advisor and CIO where he established and managed a business to provide strategy, technology, business and process improvement leadership to manufacturing and start up organizations throughout North America. He was also with Kennametal Inc. as the Global VP & CIO and with Panasonic Automotive as their CIO & Business Process Transformation Leader. Raj has spent many years at GE, including leading the Center of Excellence for ERP Systems and CIO for Energy Rentals, world-wide playing various roles in the technology domain with global operations. He has also worked at TRW (Northrop Grumann) and at McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) where he held multiple roles in corporate audit staff, finance, supply chain, e-Commerce and IT.

Raj is an alumnus of California State University from where he completed his dual bachelor of science in business administration (accounting and finance). He's also a graduate of Harvard Business School completing his General Management Program.

Raj is a member of the CIO Executive Council.
