If there were any doubts that Samsung's Galaxy S III is the hottest smartphone in the Android world, the latest sales figures for the handset should put those doubts to rest.

If you're waiting to buy the Samsung Galaxy S III on Verizon, you'll have to wait a few more days. Verizon has silently moved the phone's launch date from July 10 to July 12, which is this Thursday.

Samsung said it expects to ship 10 million Galaxy S III smartphones by the end of July. The phone went on sale in the U.S. last week, it was available in Europe since late May, and began shipping in South Korea Monday, Reuters reports. The company expects its latest iPhone rival to be the fastest-selling smartphone it has ever produced.
