British vet builds "bionic cat"

Cats can get along with only three legs, but when they lose two -- like Oscar, who was injured in a combine harvester accident -- they generally can't cope are have to be put to sleep. But a British vet managed to fit Oscar with artificial limbs fitted so tightly to his skeleton that skin can grow over the seal. The hope is that these represent a prototype of a new kind of prosthetic that can be used for humans. Read more...
