August 20, 2012, 2:58 PM — Today marks the 35th anniversary of the launch of the Voyager 2 spacecraft, and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory has a cool video update.
Still going strong after 35 years, the video discusses the mission control area for the spacecraft and the latest goings-on, including the discussion of when the ship will break out of the sun's heliosphere.
The spacecraft's twin, Voyager 1, was launched 16 days later and is also heading out of the solar system. In case you're wondering, here's why Voyager 2 was launched before Voyager 1.
