October 26, 2012, 2:56 PM — Pew! Pew! Pew! went the Mars Curiosity Rover. At least in my head, it did. That's right, folks, the laser is a-firing on the Red Planet.
Here's the weekly video update from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, giving us details on what the rover has been up to (remember, it's got work to do - it's not just there to admire the scenic landscape).
I find it amusing that the laser can shoot something 600 times at the same location and only drill about 1mm thick. NASA's gonna need a bigger laser if we're ever going to find gold up there.
