Get ready for lab-grown pork

The race is on to grow meat in a petri dish from stem cells, and a group of Dutch scientists is in the lead, creating half-inch-long strips of meat from cultured pig cells. None of the researchers have taken the plunge and actually eaten the stuff yet, and they believe that it wouldn't actually taste much like pork, since its protein content is much lower than conventional meat.
