My journey all started with a tweet from CAUCE, the Canadian non-profit anti-spam advocacy group:

Who's right? "64 bln fewer spam mails per month" - Microsoft ... "89% Percent Spam Increase" - eleven
In fact, they're both right, but they're measuring different things. Which in part says something interesting about botnet takedowns and PR offensives.
