June 07, 2010, 7:56 PM — Live conferences occasionally are worth the horrendous travel costs they often entail. Here are three about which I have at least peripheral knowledge:
- The just-concluded EuroTcl nicely demonstrated that Strasbourg is one of the world's great destinations, and that Tcl remains a valuable tool for all sorts of unusual corners of computing.
- PyTexas 2010 is a regional conference focused on use of Python, especially in academic settings. It'll be held in Waco on August 28.
- SVG Open 2010 is the Eighth International Conference on Scalable Vector Graphics, a subject I think important enough to mention in "Smart Development" frequently. The Conference will be in Paris (France, not Texas) at the end of August.
