How to turn off autocomplete in Firefox

August 23, 2011, 3:18 PM — Autocomplete is a mixed blessing. Sometimes it can be useful and other times it can just get in the way. Here's how to turn it off in Firefox.

1. Start Firefox.

2. Type about:config in the address bar and click on "I'll be careful, I promise."

3. Find "browser.urlbar.autofill"

4. Double click it to change its value to false.

There you go, now autocomplete will be turned off in Firefox.
