Kill Firefox plugin container

How to fix Firefox unresponsiveness due to flash and other plugins

By , ITworld |  Software, firefox plugins

Here's how you can kill the Firefox plugin container in Windows instead of Firefox itself. This is helpful if Firefox has been choked by flash or other plugins.

1. Hit Control+Shift+Esc to open the Windows Task Manager.

2. Click the Processes tab.

3. Find the plugin container and kill it.

This might make Firefox responsive again without having to kill the browser. Flash and other plugins can sometimes choke Firefox so killing the plugin container can be a huge timesaver.
