February 06, 2012, 3:22 PM — VLC is one of the best media players available anywhere. Here's how to add it to your Ubuntu or Linux Mint system.
1. Open a terminal window and type in the following commands, then hit enter after each of them.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:videolan/stable-daily
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc
VLC lets you play many different video codecs so it's a good idea to have it on all of your Linux computers.
